Cunningham Street Butler, PA 16001 *1st Floor-Heritage Room Topic: click for FLYER "Educating the educators: adoption-foster care issues" Speaker: JoAnn Westover JoAnn is an adoptive mom of 19-year old son who has spent 7 years working with families who were pre-adoptive and post legal adoption. She is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania, currently working in the graduate counseling department at Geneva College. Ms. Westover has also trained foster and pre-adoptive parents in attachment and parenting issues. While raising her children, with varying issues both emotionally and physically, she has also built a career and her knowledge regarding the special issues faced by the adoptive-foster-kinship families. Come share a fun evening with a professional that is truly " in your shoes"! |

Support Meetings: The meetings begin at 6:00 PM and closes at 8:30 PM. During this time news and information related to community events and resources relevant to adoption, foster and kinship care is given, along with general introductions and story sharing. McKean St. Butler, PA 16001 (downstairs) Topic: "Intentional Parenting" Speaker: Demetrios Marousis Demetrios has focused his 25 plus years of clinical experience and interest to create parenting interventions that promote and enhance the ability of children to have and enjoy reciprocal healthy relationships with parents and/or alternative primary caregivers. He spends a majority of his time delivering clinical interventions as well as training and consulting with behavioral health and social service providers that are interested in including attachment focused interventions within their programs. Demetrios maintains a limited private practice that focuses on providing family therapy.
